The Beaver Dam

Hello Class of '53. I am alive and well in Falconer, NY. We sold the Florida home due to ill health but now plan on buying another near our son in Ft. Lauderdale. We will try to come to the summer picnic. In case some of you have not heard - Ginny Taylor is in extremely poor health. A card shower would be nice:

Sadly, we have just received word of the death of Hal Henderson, husband of Shirley Miller Henderson, on May 24, 2004. Hal was 71 and had been suffering from Light Chain Disease for some time. He had been hospitalized for the last month. An obituary was published in the Erie Times News on May 26th. Condolences may be sent to Shirley at 240 North Peak Drive, Alpharetta, GA 30022.
Please forgive me for being slow, I did not realize a substantial number of our high school class survivors had joined the classmates.com service. I checked out that service Tuesday, and found the missing (from the Beaver Dam blog) 30 classmates on the classmates.com member list. I am not familiar with how the classmates.com service works, other than requiring payment of $39 per year before you can send or read a message. As I have set up the Beaver Dam blog, all messages are open to the public to read, but only a registered member of the class of 1953, may publish a post.
It would be appreciated if any classmate holding dual membership could use the classmates.com access to get current correct email addresses so contact can be made outside of the classmates.com network. Or, you can just refer them to my email address and I will take it from there.
Thanks

Joe, thanks for making the registration so easy. It really would have been a 5-minute process if it were not for the terms of service. Did anyone else read them through? Better yet, did anyone really know what they were reading? Barbara Huntley

Hey, I finally made it. More later.

I guess I am back in. Thanks, Joe for all your work on this endeavor. It is raining dandelions again. Lee has mowed the lawn three times this week and they keep popping their yellow heads up again. Well - unless we have flooding - I guess too much rain is better than too little, but I am tired of being waterlogged. Not much of a message, but I wanted to see if I had this thing right. Has anyone heard how Lea Johnston is doing?

I'm all for a picnic. Party on! Let us know of the date.

Welcome to Betty Taylor Moore,
You got the registration steps correct. If you can remember, next time you get the "post messages" page opened, bookmark it!
This was not intended to be a secret club, but only class of 1953 class members have clearance to add comments. It is a public blog, and anyone in the world can read it, but not add comments.
Does anyone else have difficulty recognizing class members by their married names? Is there any objection to inserting the 1953 last name for the girls? I am making a big assumption that none of the boys has changed his last name thru marriage or other means. Unless I receive an objection, I will add the original last name as a middle name, to avoid a repeat of an error last week where I removed a post because of an unknown last name/email ID.
P.S. Happy Mother's Day to all who qualify. -[;-)
I have discovered that I cannot change member ID's from my end, so inserting your birth first and last name in the nickname space is the only way we have to identify who the girls were before they got married. Sorry.

Bev and Joe sounds like my son and wife, they have four cats and two dogs. The one dog is the old timer and my son says the cocker, Chelsea, is waiting for the puppy to go home now.
We only have one cat, and she is a white long haired domestic. She is spayed and de-clawed. (But she doesn't know it) She digs and claws away on my furniture like mad.
She's friendly on her terms. Don't ever pick her up or demand anythings from her.
Okay, enough of my animal. I guess I've finnaly decided that my driving days are over. That was a big jolt; I just finished paying for my car. Wouldn't you know.
George is still driving the schoolbus. I think maybe he's tired of that too. We'll wait and see this fall. He just an award for last month, no calls in. It's amazing Millcreek had school every day. One day was bad, I guess.
I'm on the computer most of the time, I'm too old to do anything else.
That's enough for now.
